Things looked real good. But now my sense of optimism has been weakened. All it took was a couple of disastrous referenda and four bombs in London.
The momentum for peaceful integration and prosperity has served us remarkably well since the fall of the Berlin Wall. Can it be regained? Let's hope so. Fortunately, the Union has got a strong leadership now.
