packing one's belongings, to be continued

Why does packing take so long? Assembling some everyday things for the kind of domestic trip I've done so many times. No kids, no animals, no nothing. Just my stuff. Some clothes, some music to go, something to read. How difficult can it be? I spend a week thinking about it. A day preparing for it. And finally another day actually doing it. The packing. And at eleven pm the darn suitcase is still not ready. Camera batteries not yet charged. Do I bring the umbrella or not? Oh, probably. But it doesn't fit in the briefcase (well it does but not with my laptop in it) so I'd have to stove it away in the big one. Which obviously won't be around when I actually need the umbrella. Gah! And it's so boring. I'll do some blogging instead.

I really do understand what you mean!!! I hate packing and I have done it so many times!!! 'Boring' is the least I can say (if you know what I mean... :-) )

What happened to Stockholm by pixels???

Hi JM, pixels is alive and kicking. Why do you ask?

I have had the same thoughts each time I'm about to pack my suitcase. A true mystery it is.

...and apparently a mystery shared between many souls...

Thanks for stopping by, Järnladyn.

I have mixed feelings about packing, I used to make a big deal about it and there was one (stupid) time we *had to* return home after driving for some hours just because I forgot some "essentials". I'm all mature now and I wouldn't behave like that now. Of course.

Nowadays I don't write any packing lists and I try to think less is more, but I don't think I've ever got it right and lean, so far. I always pack too much stuff, you never know what might come handy...:/

I've got a list but it's some twenty years old and *slightly* outdated. Makes me laugh every time as I arrive at the item "comb" which might seem *slightly* unnecessary given my current "hair style"...

Thanks for stopping by, Pia.
